Dear Parents,
This week we remember our second grade students who attend St. Mary Parish and St. Raphael Parish. They will receive their First Holy Communion at Masses this weekend. We pray for them as they take the next step in their journey of faith.
The Bookmobile will be at the Lagonda Campus on Monday, May 5.
There will be a Glen Helen Parent Meeting on Monday, May 5, at 6:00 at the Lagonda campus. This meeting is for parents of fifth graders whose child will be entering sixth grade next year. The Glen Helen trip is scheduled for September, and the teachers want to get a head start on the planning!
On Tuesday evening, May 6, the faculty will be attending the Miami Valley Teacher Recognition Banquet. Catholic Central Elementary School will be honoring three staff members: Mary O’Neill for thirty years of service and Erin Trempe for ten years of service in Catholic schools. Michelle LeMaster will be honored for being the recipient of an Innovative Teaching Grant. Congratulations for your dedication and hard work!
We will be attending Children’s Mass on Wednesday, May 7, at 8:30 a.m. at all our campuses. Please join us in prayer!
Our next PTO meeting will be held on Wednesday, May 7, at 6:00 p.m. at the Lagonda campus.
Market Day orders are due in to the school office by Monday, May 19. Late calls and internet orders will be accepted until noon on Thursday, May 22. Pickup date is Tuesday, May 27, from 2:30-3:30 p.m. at the Limestone campus.
Yellow and green Paper Retriever recycling bins have been placed at our Lagonda and Limestone Campuses. Please deposit newspapers, magazines, catalogs, office paper, school paper, mail, paper backed books, spiral notebooks, etc. A good rule of thumb is that they take any kind of paper as long as it is clean, dry, and you can tear it. Nothing from the kitchen or bathroom (no paper plates, napkins, cereal boxes, paper towels, etc. Also, no cardboard). Help our environment along with helping us earn money!
Reminder: Please send in your empty inkjet cartridges, laser cartridges and used cell phones from your home or office. We recycle them to earn free equipment or cash.
GFS Marketplace has a fun funds program that gives up to 10% back to the school. The form is in the school office and has a coupon for $10.00 off a $50.00 minimum purchase. This is a free membership. Simply fill out the postcard (no postage necessary) and GFS will send you a card that is given to the check out person before paying for your purchases. As always thank you for your support.
The Parent Infant Center has a box for donations near the School Office again this year for any children’s clothes or items outgrown. If you have any outgrown clothes in closets or drawers taking up space (clothing of all sizes including shoes, socks, etc.), all donations are greatly appreciated! Thank you for your generosity.
Remember to visit our website frequently at www.ccirish.org for information concerning Catholic Central including the menu, calendar, etc. The calendar is continually updated. Underlined entries on the calendar are links to more detailed information.
Irish Trifecta of Golf – Three Times the Fun
For those that want a great deal, you have the option to play in both the Catholic Central golf outings, plus receive a FREE round for doing so. You may still enter each event separately. The Booster’s 19th Annual Father’s Day Golf is set for Saturday, June 14th. In the Fall, the Irish Pro-Am is slated for September 12th. Both tournaments are held at Windy Knoll, so the course is throwing in a complimentary round to anyone who chooses to take the package deal. To get a flyer with the details, call 328-7427 Ext. 112 and we will send one your way. Whether you select one outing or both, you’ll have a great time and all proceeds benefit the wonderful students at Catholic Central Schools.
Sincerely,
Mary Callahan
