Marcia Roth
Math Dept Chair, AP Calculus, Pre-Calculus, Ministry Coordinator,
Degrees - Grove City College – B.A. in mathematics, 1996, Miami University – M.A.T. in mathematics, 2001
I am a third-generation mathematics-and-teenagers enthusiast, following in both her mother’s and grandmother’s footsteps as a math teacher. I have taught all levels of high school math in my eleven years at Central, and currently work with sophomores, juniors and seniors in AP Calculus and Pre-Calculus.
My additional activities have included math department chair, freshman class advisor, Kairos retreat leader, high school coordinator for the Math Mentoring Across the Information Highway project (supported by an Ohio SchoolNet grant) in 2000-2001, and NTTI Master Teacher in 2002-2005. In the spring of 2006, I was honored to receive a Clark County Excellence in Teaching Award from Rotary, as well as recognition as one of Ohio Magazine’s Outstanding Private High School teachers. As Service Coordinator, I really enjoy co-teaching the J-term Service Ministry class and working with student leaders to coordinate Catholic Central Service Day in the spring.
I earned my BA from Grove City College in 1996 and my MAT from Miami University in 2001. My husband Matt is also a teacher from a teaching family; we have three children: Sy, Gina, and Bobby.
